Our Mounts
Every great vaulting team needs a solid foundation -- a horse! Vaulting horses must be calm, safe and unflappable. The fact that so many of them are so downright lovable comes with the territory! Here are the horses used by Sky Mountain Vaulters.

Snowdancer Snowdancer (a.k.a. "Dancer") is a 15-year-old Belgian mare, standing at 16.2 hands. She was purchased by Kathy Kemp at a small auction in the Fall of 2001. She had received no formal training beforehand but trained for the next 4 years for gaming, drill, dressage, medieval reenactment, trail riding, jumping, lessons, and anything else Kathy could think of. After Cavalia came to the Seattle region in 2004, becoming a vaulting mount was her next adventure. Dancer takes to anything as if she were born for no other purpose. Her spirit, willingness, agility and intelligence have been truly amazing to experience over the years. |
